The CRA-INITS seminars mainly focus on Dante Hermeneutics. They are connected to the symbolic analysis of the Divine Comedy, in order to allow students specializing in Italian Studies to appreciate all the complexity and richness of a poetic universe which is so crucial for the constitution of the Italian and European Renaissance. Primary purpose of these courses is to perfect the literary, philosophic and theologic preparation of international participants, also seeking to refine their use of the Italian language (verbal and written communication), also providing students with the knowledge of essential critical tools for the interpretation of Dante’s text. During the CRA-INITS courses, at the end of each lesson, a discussion is organized in which students are required to participate, commenting both on the subject proposed by the lecturer and on the opinions of their colleagues.
Every course envisages a weekly written report (or the elaboration of a research paper) by each student, with critical observations on the basis of the last covered topics. These reports are periodically corrected. At the end of each seminar, the individual profit of undergraduate and graduate students is assessed, considering the results of all the periodical written reports, oral presentations and final written and oral exams.
